Right-wing groups have asked government to expedite temple construction through an ordinance.New Delhi:Â The Supreme Court today said a different bench will on January 10 fix date of hearing a title suit in Ayodhya case - pending for six decades and at heart of India's most politically divisive row.
A bench led by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi announced it in a 60-second hearing.
Members of ruling BJP, some of its allies and right-wing groups want a Ram temple at site where 16th-century Babri mosque stood before it was razed by Hindu activists in 1992.
These groups have called for a special government order to enable start of construction before general elections are announced.
Last year, top court refused an early hearing.
