Russia on Thursday claimed Ukraine was increase efforts to attack Transnistria, Moldovas Moscow-backed separatist region, and promised a reaction.

The Russian defence ministrys declaration was released on the eve of the 1 year anniversary of Moscows offensive in Ukraine.Since the launch of the major assault against Ukraine a year ago, the Kremlin has actually been accused of raising stress in Transnistria to destabilise Ukraine and Moldova.

The Kyiv program has stepped up preparations for the invasion of the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic, the declaration said. The defence ministry claimed the invasion would be launched in reaction to a supposed offensive by Russian soldiers from the area of Transnistria.

The Russian Defense Ministry declared that Ukrainian troops were massing at the border with Moldovas breakaway region.

The application of the prepared justification by the Ukrainian authorities postures a direct threat to the Russian peacekeeping contingent lawfully deployed in Transnistria, Moscow stated.

Russias militaries will react to the impending provocation of the Ukrainian side in an appropriate manner, the statement added. The federal government of Moldova stated Thursday that state authorities do not verify the details launched this morning by the Russian Defense Ministry.

We call for calm and to get info from official and trusted sources of the Republic of Moldova, it said on its Telegram channel.Earlier this month, Moldovan President Maia Sandu implicated Russia of outlining to strongly topple her government through saboteurs camouflaged as anti-government protesters, claims that Russia rejected.

Transnistria is a narrow area bordering Ukraine, which separated from Moldova after a brief war in 1992.

Russian soldiers have actually been released there given that.

Moldova, a bad nation of 2.6 million individuals with a sizeable Russian minority, has taken a pro-Western turn in current years, angering Moscow.
