MP Mahindananda Aluthgamage says that an increment to the salaries of public employees is likely to take place through the upcoming budget.Participating in the re-organization activities of Nawalapitiya East constituency of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), the MP pointed out that in view of the current situation, it will be possible to reach an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) next month.“We all know that the situation of the country is now different than it was last year.

Prices of food items have been reduced.

By November of this year, the price of goods will be reduced further.

A people-friendly environment is being created.”“In the agreements reached with the IMF so far, they have expressed agreement for debt restructuring.”   “Therefore, we are confident that we can sign the Memorandum of Understanding with the IMF next month”, he added.
