TEHRAN - The third stage of the workshop series on the effects of climate on the Indian Ocean marine environment began here on Monday. The Indian Ocean Rim Association Regional Centre for Science and Technology Transfer (IORA RCSTT), the Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology (IROST), the Iranian National Institute for Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences (INIOAS), and the Regional Education and Research Centre on Oceanography for West Asia are holding the workshop. The Indian Ocean Rim Association is an inter-governmental organization that was developed on March 7, 1997.

The impacts of environment change on the environment of the Indian Ocean and the intro of steps taken to reduce the effects of environment change are discussed throughout the three-day event, IRNA reported. The goal of the workshop is to improve the understanding of Member States and share information on the impacts of climate modification on the marine environment. The specific goals are to promote sharing understanding and findings on the results of environment change on various aspects of the marine environment and ecosystem. It likewise aims to enhance the capacities and abilities of IORA Member States in sustainable management and conservation of marine biodiversity.Encouraging global research partnerships to invest in the preservation and repair of blue carbon communities as an important part for mitigating the impacts of environment modification, and increasing awareness and resilience of IORA Member States on environment change-driven catastrophes and damages are some other goals of the workshop. The occasion looks for to design an action strategy to address the impacts of climate modification on the marine environment and communities, along with its implications on food security.Motivating scientists to assess and validate their hypothesis on climate change, causing the promotion of mathematical environment prediction, and introducing Marine and Coastal Adaptation and Mitigation Measures for Climate Change are other objectives of the event. The Indian Ocean, as the third-largest body of water worldwide, plays an essential function in the economy, ecosystem, and weather from regional to global scales. Many residential or commercial properties of the Indian Ocean, can be fundamentally affected by environment modification.

Climate change is quickly impacting the weather, environments, and life of more than 2 billion people. The impacts of environment change are putting increasing pressure on both marine and terrestrial environments, through more severe climate condition that likewise increase the possibility of natural disasters.Climate change is anticipated to result in a boost in global temperature levels, sea level increase, ocean acidification, more extreme tropical cyclones, and an increase in the frequency, intensity, or period of severe weather events. It is anticipated that environment change-driven disruption will have an unfavorable effect on supply of water; food security; health, market, settlement, and society, particularly for those located in coastal areas and river flood plains. In addition, climate change would likewise impact natural systems and resources, facilities, and labor performance which may cause lowered financial development and increasing poverty and inequality. Therefore, the examination of environment modification effects from various perspectives, from marine environment/biodiversity to weather variation, is significant.MG
