NEW DELHI: Congress on Sunday accused the federal government of wanting to establish an authoritarian supremacy in Parliament by terrorising the opposition, which it stated was borne out by the unilateral suspension of MP Rajini Patil, and through the expunction of remarks made by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and MP Rahul Gandhi even when they were neither unparliamentary, nor violent in any way.RS MP and Congress legal eagle Abhishek Singhvi refuted Patils suspension and the expunging of Kharges and Gandhis speeches in Parliament and said BJP does not want Parliament to go through consensus, partnership and concurrence, however through clash, turmoil, and conflict .

In a fervent appeal for fairplay to Lok Sabha Speaker and Rajya Sabha chairperson, who he described as the robust guards without who the spirit of healthy parliamentary discussion and dispute will die , Singhvi stated not a single word in Kharges or Gandhis speeches validated the use of the power of expunction.

Congress likewise protested against Patils suspension for the remainder of the Budget session, calling the action out of proportion, excessive and actuated purely by political malice at the wish of this government .
