Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran encountered an accident while filming ‘Vilayath Buddha’, resulting in a leg injury.

Sources indicate that he will undergo a keyhole surgery for his leg and will be temporarily pausing work to recuperate, following medical advice.Reportedly, PrithvirajSukumaran was engaged in filming an action sequence on the Marayur set for his upcoming film ‘Vilayath Buddha’.Currently, the actor is admitted to a private hospital in Kochi and the keyhole surgery is scheduled for this day (26 June, Monday).As Prithviraj will be taking a break for a few months to recover, the production of "Vilayath Buddha" will be temporarily halted.

Directed by Jayan Nambiyar, the movie centers around a dispute between two main characters regarding the ownership of a sandalwood tree.

The shoot of the film was supposed to be wrapped up by this month.

Alongside Prithviraj, ‘Vilayath Buddha’ features notable roles played by Anu Mohan and Priyamvada Krishnan.

The movie is based on the most celebrated works of the Malayalam writer GR Indugopan by the same title.

Fans are wishing for a speedy recovery of the actor who had several highly anticipated upcoming projects in the pipeline that includes ‘L2: Empuraan’, ‘Aadujeevitham’, and ‘Salaar’
