NEW DELHI: Security agencies sprang into action early Monday after the Special Protection Group (SPG) flashed an alert regarding a UAV reportedly hovering over an area near the residence of PM Narendra Modi at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg (LKM) in central Delhi.Early Monday, the signalling system at LKM detected and alerted about a drone-like object flying in the pre-defined radius around the area.
In this instance, however, no specific security breach was established and nothing was found flying right above the PM's residence.
Delhi Police was also alerted around 5am after which the entire area around LKM was scanned and sanitised.

7, Lok Kalyan Marg - earlier known as 7 Race Course Road - is the official residence and primary workplace for PM Modi.
It is protected by the SPG, which is assigned with the responsibility of protecting the PM and his family."The SPG handles the layers of security around LKM and of the five bungalows in the lane, one of them is solely meant for the SPG sleuths," an official informed.
Officials said that the SPG is aided by the personnel from the paramilitary like CRPF and the Delhi Police.
According to the new drone rules, the airspace above and in close proximity to the LKM is a no-fly zone.
Delhi Police also has strict regulations about flying of drones in high-security areas.
Recently, a documentary filmmaker was booked for flying a drone near the Akshardham temple.
