State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya says that the restructuring of Sri Lanka’s foreign debt will likely be concluded within a short period of time.Speaking to the media in Kegalle yesterday (14), the State Minister emphasized that “both the first two quarters of this year had a negative, contracted economy.
Hopefully, the second two quarters will be somewhat different”.“It is from where we have to estimate the 2024 budget.
So, the upcoming budget will not be able to prepare easily.
We have to make a cost alignment with very high financial management for that”, he added.“However, we believe that we will be able to complete this restructuring within a short period of time.
But with the goals we have set currently, we can prepare the budget”, the State Minister emphasized.
