Cricketer Prithvi Shaw was supposedly manhandled and his vehicle attacked with a baseball bat outside a luxury hotel at Santacruz in Mumbai following an argument with a female social networks influencer and her male buddy after the player declined to click selfies with her, authorities said.

Sapna Gill was arrested on Thursday night and will be produced in the Andheri court on Friday.

It all started when Shaw (23) and two good friends challenged Gill and his good friend, Shobhit Thakur, consistently taking selfies with the player in the hotel at strike Wednesday.

Following Shaws objection, Thakur and Gill alias Sanna, waited for 25 minutes outside the hotel for the cricketer and his good friends to march, stated the police.Viral video: Cricketer Prithvi Shaw involved in brawl with fans in MumbaiThe authorities said when they came out, Thakur and Gill harmed Shaws BMW with a baseball bat, shattering the glass windshield and rear screen of the vehicle.

They stated Thakur went on to call 6 friends and with them he and Gill chased Shaws vehicle for 10km thinking the cricketer was in it.

Shaw had left in another cars and truck after matters warmed up.
