UTTARKASHI: Families of 13 workers from Jharkhand and four from Bihar, among the 40 labourers trapped inside the Silkyara tunnel, are spending sleepless nights since news about the collapse reached them on Sunday morning."We had no Diwali celebrations this year and it seems we are going to miss Chhath Pujaas well," said Ravi Munda, 23, whose cousin and two friends are trapped inside."Not only our families but the entire village is disturbed since the incident," Munda added.Echoing a similar sentiment, Darshan Singh, another worker from Bihar, said, "The condition of families of trapped workers is more traumatic than our pain and anxiety.

All our thoughts are with them."Singh added: "Due to the expenses and other factors, it is generally not possible to go home for festivals.

So, we used to celebrate here in our workers' accommodation.

This time, there is no celebration at all -- neither here nor back home."Some workers, however, expressed hope that "their brothers will be rescued soon and their families won't miss the Chhath festival."
