NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading on a mixed note in Thursday's morning session. Shares of Motherson Sumi Systems (up 0.98 per cent), Ashok Leyland (up 0.76 per cent), Mahindra Mahindra (up 0.71 per cent) and Bajaj Auto (up 0.51 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.

Apollo Tyres (down 0.79 per cent), Eicher Motors (down 0.45 per cent), Tata Motors (down 0.32 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India (down 0.23 per cent) were trading with losses.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.12 per cent up at 8655.10 around 09:52 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 8.35 points at 11,592.65 while the BSE Sensex was up 23.50 points at 38,608.85.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.

Shares of Tata Motors, Vodafone Idea, Ashok Leyland, Indian Oil Corp, DLF, YES Bank, Bharti Airtel, SAIL, Wipro, Vedanta, SBI, Infosys, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Bank of Baroda and Godrej Consumer were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
