Farmers across Odisha on Friday staged protests against the agriculture reform bills passed in the Parliament.The Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), All India Farmers Union (AIFU), All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC), All India Kisan Mahasangh (AIKM) have come on a common platform and protested against the agri bills at the Master Canteen square in BhubaneswarThe protest led by Akshaya of Navnirman Krushak Sangathan (NKS) was hindered when they tried to gherao Krushi Bhawan in Odisha's capital Bhubaneswar.The youth wing of Congress in Cuttack led by MLA Md Moqueem as well as NKS members also launched protests opposing the passing of the farm bills in the Parliament.In Odisha, the protest was joined by farmer leaders, activist, trade union leader and student activistsWe need to understand the Chronology of events, two days before the agri bills were passed in Parliament, CBI raided a senior leader and former minister of the ruling BJD in Odisha, following which the BJD supported the bill in Lok Sabha and opposed in Rajya Sabha and demanded the Bill be sent to Select Committee for approval.
