To commemorate the centenary celebrations of late former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and world famous actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, the Indian Government Mint has decided to print Rs 100 silver coin with his portrait.

He is about to become the first Tollywood actor to be featured on Indian currency.

Meanwhile, The Hyderabad Mint officials have received suggestions and instructions from his daughter, former Union Minister Daggubati Purandeswari regarding the printing of NTR's figure on the Rs 100 coin.

Purandeswari said that she requested Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to bring a coin in Sr NTR's name, and it is going to happen very soon.

Sr NTR, considered one of the greatest actors of Indian cinema, had a decades-long career that spanned across over 300 films.

He was one of the most influential and iconic figures in the Telugu film industry, and is considered a cultural icon.

He was known for his portrayal of mythological characters in films and was also known for his strong political views and social activism.

He is also credited with pioneering the Telugu Cultural Renaissance and the Telugu language movement.

He was the founder of the NTR Arts, a production house and produced several hit films under his production banner.

Sr NTR founded a regional party and served as its president.

He served as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for three terms.

He was one of the most influential personalities of Andhra Pradesh.

He is also known as "Anna Garu" (Elder Brother) by the Telugu people.

He won several awards, including two National Film Awards, one Nandi Award, and one Filmfare Award.

He was also honored with the Padma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian honor, in 1968.The Government Mint in India is responsible for the production of coins and currency notes.

It is part of the Indian Ministry of Finance and operated by the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL).

The mints are located in Mumbai, Kolkata, Noida, and Hyderabad.

The mints produce coins from metals such as nickel, copper, and brass in various denominations.

Coins are used for circulation and as a medium of exchange.

The mints also produce currency notes in various denominations for circulation.
