NEW DELHI: Seasoned all-rounder Deepti Sharma on Wednesday became the first India worldwide to reach the 100 wickets landmark in T20Is.

Deepti accomplished the accomplishment during Indias second group match against West Indies at the Womens T20 World Cup in Cape Town.

Deepti reached the 100-wicket milestone in the last over of the West Indies innings when she bamboozled Aly Fletcher (0 ).

The 24-year-old returned impressive figures of 3 for 15 as she assisted India restrict West Indies Women to a below-par 118 for 6.

Her other 2 scalps in the match consisted of Stafanie Taylor (42) and Shemaine Campbelle (30 ).

West Indies off-spinner Anisa Mohammed (125) presently holds the record for most wickets in Womens T20Is.

Anisa is followed by Pakistans Nida Dar (121) and Ellyse Perry (120) of Australia at 2nd and 3rd area respectively.Deepti is presently at the 9th spot on the list of ladiess cricketers with most wickets in T20Is.
