YouTube Chief Executive and among the first Google staff members, Susan Wojcicki, is stepping down from her function at the tech giant that started in her garage nearly 25 years ago, she said in an individual upgrade on the video-sharing platform on Thursday.Wojcicki, 54, will be changed by her deputy Neal Mohan, a senior marketing and item executive who signed up with Google in 2008.
The change of guard comes as YouTube&& s advertising revenue succumbed to the second straight quarter amid intense competition for seeing time with short-form video services such as TikTok and Facebook&& s Reels, and streaming services like Netflix, Reuters reported.Mohan, a Stanford graduate, was selected primary product officer at YouTube in 2015.
He concentrated on building YouTube Shorts, Music and subscription offerings in the role.He previously spent almost six years at DoubleClick, a company Google acquired in 2008, and later on served for about 8 years as senior vice president of display and video advertising at Google. One of the most prominent females in tech, Wojcicki said she will focus on && household, health, and personal tasks&& , and prepares to handle an advisory role at Alphabet, read the report.According to Reuters she was formerly senior vice president for ad items at Google and ended up being the CEO of YouTube in 2014.&& It strikes me as a forced exit brought on by YouTube&& s under-performance in current quarters & hellip; What&& s less clear is whether Mohan, who&& s had a reasonably low profile to date, has the leadership qualities to get YouTube back on track,& & stated Paul Verna, analyst at Insider Intelligence.Alphabet shares (GOOGL.O) were hardly altered for the day, down less than 1% after the news. The post YouTube CEO Wojcicki, among the first Google employees, steps down first appeared on Ariana News.
