NEW DELHI: Investigators probing the Nikki Yadav murder case feel that the killer, her live-in partner Sahil Gehlot, would have murdered her in Goa had he been able to accompany her on the trip.

She had a ticket for Goa on February 10, but he was unable to get a ticket to go with her.

The duo decided instead to visit the hills.“Since the family is grieving, we did not summon Nikki’s sister for questioning.

She was in the apartment when Sahil arrived on February 10.

Nikki’s train to Goa was to depart from Nizamuddin railway station at 7.30am.

She probably asked Sahil to accompany her to Goa, but he couldn’t get a ticket,” said a police officer who has knowledge of the investigation.

The cops recovered Nikki’s travel bag from near the refrigerator in which her body had been stashed by Sahil.1/12Love, murder and marriage, all in one day: Nikki Yadav's killing shocks DelhiPreviousNextShow Captions
A man strangled his live-in partner with a mobile phone cable and dumped her body in a refrigerator at a dhaba in west Delhi.

The accused reportedly got married to another woman later that day.

Police said they recovered the body of the woman from the fridge and the data cable from his car.

Nikki knew Sahil since 2018.
