BHOPAL: Six accused allegedly abducted and assaulted a 24-year-old man and tied a leash around his neck and forced him to bark like a dog in Bhopal.

It is alleged that the accused also pressured the victim to convert his religion.The incident took place on May 9, and it came to light on Monday after a video of the man with the leash around his neck went viral on social media platforms.Madhya Pradesh home minister Narottam Mishra said, "When I became aware of the matter, I issued a 24-hour ultimatum to police to take action.

They promptly complied and apprehended those involved, who were subsequently charged under the National Security Act.

The enforcement activities continued leading to the demolition of the encroachment made by the accused.""We will not tolerate such behaviour in our state, and our actions will serve as a deterrent to others," Mishra said.Teela Jamalpura police registered a case against the accused on charges of abduction, assault and other relevant charges under IPC and The Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act and started proceedings under NSA against them.

Three of the six accused were arrested.

In a swift move, encroachments allegedly made by the accused at their houses were razed by the district administration.Sold house worth 22L for 16L in fear of accused, allege victim's kin Police commissioner, Bhopal Harinarayanachari Mishra told TOI that a process has been initiated to slap National Security Act against the three arrested accused.

Besides SHO Teela Jamalpura, Anurag Lal, has been removed from active duty and posted to the police line following a complaint by the brother of the victim who alleged that the officer did not file a complaint against the accused, said the commissioner.Police said the complainant, Vijay Ramchandani, 24, a resident of Indira Vihar Colony in Panchvati, stated that on May 9 he had gone to attend a marriage function along with his friend Shahrukh.

After the function, he dropped his friend on his scooter at Teela Jamalpura locality around 12.30 am and on return was waylaid by Faizan Lal, Sahil Bachha and Sameer.

The accused demanded money and his mobile phones.

Soon, their three accomplices Bilal, Mufid, and Sahil joined and started assaulting Vijay.Meanwhile, Faizan and Sameer allegedly whipped out a knife and forcefully took him to the desolate PGBT College Ground and snatched his scooter key along with his mobile phones and cash from his wallet."The accused then tied a leash around his neck and made him bark while beating him up.

They also pressured him to convert his religion.

The accused recorded the video on their smartphones and threatened to share it on social media.They later called up the victim's younger brother, Lokesh, and told that his brother was in their custody.

Lokesh pleaded with them to release his brother.Police said that Vijay alleged that the accused Sameer and Faizan had waylaid and assaulted him twice or thrice again in the past also.Meanwhile, Vijay's family alleged that due to the terror of the accused, they had sold their house worth Rs 22 lakh in Teela Jamalpura for Rs 16 lakh and shifted to Indira Vihar Colony in Panchavati.Brother of complainant, Lokesh Ramchandani said that the accused were frequently torturing his brother and extorted money from him.WatchMan chained like a dog by goons in MP's Bhopal, video goes viral
