Billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s salary in 2018-19 was Rs 15 crore, unchanged for the eleventh consecutive years, while the remuneration of the other whole-time directors increased, according to the annual report of the conglomerate.

Although Ambani's salary remained unchanged, he is eligible for a hefty dividend payment for his shareholding in the energy conglomerate.

According to the report, Ambani, in his personal capacity, held 72.31 lakh shares of the company as on March 31, 2019.

Shares of RIL closed at Rs 1,249 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, down 1%.

At current market price, Ambani’s holding alone is worth Rs 903 crore. The report said that Ambani’s compensation was capped at Rs 15 crore “reflecting his desire to continue to set a personal example of moderation in managerial compensation levels.” Ambani’s cousins and executive directors of RIL, Nikhil Meswani and Hital Meswani, both took home Rs 20.57 crore in 2018-19.

Both had remuneration of Rs 19.99 crore in FY18. The remuneration of executive director PMS Prasad increased to Rs 10.01 crore in the year ended March as against a total salary of Rs 8.99 in the previous year. Another Executive Director Pawan Kumar also saw an increase in remuneration at Rs 4.17 crore in the year from Rs 3.47 crore a year ago.

Non-executive director Nita Ambani received a total of Rs 1.72 crore as sitting fee and commission for FY19.

She hold 67.96 lakh shares of RIL, valued at Rs 849 crore at the current market price.
