Ginkgo Bioworks, a $4bn-valued Boston-based synthetic biology company backed by Bill Gates and co-founded by Dubliner Barry Canton, his wife Reshma Shetty and three of their colleagues, is set to expand through investments, spin-outs and joint ventures.
