NEW DELHI: The Nifty Financial Services index was down with its components trading lower in Tuesday's afternoon session. Shares of HDFC LIFE INSURANCE (up 2.58 per cent), Mahindra - Mahindra Financial (up 2.17 per cent), Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (up 1.41 per cent), HDFC (up 1.09 per cent), State Bank of India (up 0.9 per cent), Cholamandalam Investment - Finance (up 0.87 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 0.86 per cent), Bajaj Finserv (up 0.6 per cent), Bajaj Finance (up 0.54 per cent), SBI Life (up 0.38 per cent), Axis Bank (up 0.31 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 0.2 per cent), Edelweiss Financial Services (up 0.16 per cent) and Shriram Transport Finance (up 0.04 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Financial Services index was trading 0.37 per cent up at 14,288.15 around 11:44 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 8.85 points at 11838.25 , while the BSE Sensex was up 40.37 points at 40403.6 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, GMR Infra, Tata Motors, SBI, Ashok Leyland, SAIL, ONGC and JSPL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
