The IISc authorities did not state whether he would be entitled to retirement benefits.Bengaluru: A senior professor at the prestigious Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru has been retired compulsorily over claims of sexually harassing a PhD student, IISc stated Tuesday.The internal grievances committee of the IISc, which investigated the matter, discovered fact in the grievance, the institute stated without identifying the professor.
A complaint was gotten from a PhD trainee about unwanted sexual advances by a senior teacher.
The problem was enquired into by the internal problems committee of the institute, IISc stated in a statement.The governing council being the selecting authority for faculty deliberated on the query report and solved to compulsorily retire the faculty with instant effect, it said.
The orders were served on the professors on October 22, 2018 and he stands compulsorily retired, it said.The IISc authorities did not state whether he would be entitled to retirement benefits.
