Iraq

2023-01-21T10:10:55.000000 Z / The leader of al-Hekmah motion, Ammar al-Hakim, on Saturday cautioned that the Iraqi political system might fail under the pressure of the challenges dealing with the nation since the US-led intrusion in 2003.Al-Hakims remarks was available in a speech he provided throughout a memorial service for the chairperson of the Supreme Council of the Islamic Revolution in Iraq, Ayatollah Mohammad Baqer al-Hakim, on the 20th anniversary of his assassination in Baghdad.

The executive authority can not operate without an effective and prominent political and parliamentary support, he stated, similarly, a legal authority can not keep an eye on and rectify without a balanced federal government interaction and cooperation.

Al-Hakim cautioned that our political system would not hold for long if we stop working to unite against the challenge.

The political shakeups we might have to endure may be more violent than anything we have experienced over the previous twenty years.

The Shiite cleric said that the malleability of a political system for change is proportional to the solidity and cohesion of the nations political stability, worrying that individuals show more dedication to the constitutions and laws that resonate with their reality.

We all understand that the constitution was drafted under remarkable situations spoiled with qualms that had collected throughout years of despotism, dictatorship, and ostracism.

That has a noticeable effect on the nature of some constitutional posts, he said.

Al-Hakim stated it became important to examine certain short articles of the constitution due to the cumulative experience in politics and the structural issues the political fundaments of Iraq experience.

Iraq still does not have a fair and unified election law that is immune to the fluctuations of the political state of mind, he continued, we still lack the systems that manage federalism and its practical ramifications in the ties in between the federal and local federal governments.

We still lack a combined military creed, he included, we continue to do not have the policy of bridging the trust space between the people and the government.

Al-Hakim said that Iraq, unlike the neighboring nations stricken by recessions, has internal solutions that do not need external cooperation for its problems.

All we need is a precise identification of our top priorities, decision, and persistence to attain our objectives, he stated.
