BAREILLY: The special MP/MLA court of extra chief judicial magistrate (ACJM) Smita Goswami in UPs Moradabad granted two years imprisonment to SP leader Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam Khan in a case of attacking a public servant in 2008.
The attack occurred in Chhajlet area of Moradabad during the BSP federal government when Azams lorry was visited cops for routine monitoring, following which the SP leader produced a racket by obstructing the highway.
Later, other leaders of his celebration and his kid signed up with the protest.
A total of 9 individuals, including previous MLA Ikram Qureshi, were reserved by authorities under sections 353 (assault or criminal force to discourage public servant from releasing his duty), 341 (wrongful restraint) of IPC, along with section 7 of Criminal Amendment Act 1932.
Federal government counsel Mohanlal Bishnoi stated, Nine implicated were chargesheeted in this case, and 2 of them - Azam Khan and Abdullah - were founded guilty while the other 7 have been acquitted.
The founded guilty accused were found guilty under IPC sections 353 and 341, along with area 7 in the Criminal Amendment Act 1932.
They have been sentenced to two-year jail time, in addition to Rs 2,500 fine each.
Both the implicated had given up prior to the court and they will be given bail according to the arrangement under area 437 of CrPC.
