Customs officials have seized 30 kg of Hashish, estimated to be worth around Rs.
212 million, concealed in a gift parcel sent from Italy to Sri Lanka, through a clearing company in Colombo. One person has been arrested and handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB), along with the haul of narcotics, for further investigations, Sri Lanka Customs spokesman said. Additional Director General of Customs Seevali Arukgoda stated that the seized consignment of Hashish had been sent to an address in the Mathugama area and that the street value of the drugs is estimated to be around Rs.
212 million.
