KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 1The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) in Narchyang, Annapurna Rural Municipality-4, Myagdi district, has witnessed an unprecedented surge in tourists this festive season, marking a record-breaking number of visitors.GWT ambassador, record-breaking mountaineer Hari Budha Magar receives Inspiration Award at Soldiering On Awards 2024Record-breaking Root and Brook lead England to a strong 492-3 against Pakistan in 1st testAccording to Ten Gurung, a campaigner for the trekking route, around 3,000 tourists have visited the base camp since the start of the Dashain vacation.
Nearly 300 domestic and international tourists are currently staying at the base camp, as reported on Wednesday.While the primary draw for many visitors is the ascent of Annapurna-I, the 8,091-meter peak, the route also boasts other natural attractions, including the scenic Panchakunda Lake, cascading waterfalls, and diverse biodiversity along the trail.To support this increased influx of visitors, Annapurna Rural Municipality has implemented a tourism master plan focused on infrastructure improvements and enhanced services at the base camp.
The local government has also allocated additional budgetary resources to sustain these initiatives and promote tourism in the region..
