A Sri Lankan male faced Broadmeadows Magistrates Court today (19 December, 2024) charged with presumably dedicating an act of indecency on board a global flight.The Australian Federal Police (AFP) will allege the male, 41, devoted an act of indecency on a female guest throughout a flight from Sri Lanka to Melbourne the other day (Wednesday 18 December, 2024).
The traveler alerted airline personnel to the occurrence, who then alerted the AFP.AFP officers interviewed travelers and airline staff when the aircraft came to Melbourne Airport.The male was charged with one count of an act of indecency, contrary to section 60 (1) of the Crimes Act 1900 (ACT), by virtue of section 15 (1) of the Crimes (Aviation) Act 1991 (Cth).
This offense brings an optimum charge of 7 years imprisonment.He was approved bail and is anticipated to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court on 9 January, 2025.
