In reaction to the rise in mishaps involving passenger transportation buses and other vehicles, the Sri Lanka Police has announced that they will execute an island-wide traffic operation beginning December 23, 2024.
The effort, spearheaded by the Acting Inspector General of Police, will continue throughout the joyful season, intending to enhance road safety and minimize accidents, the Police Media Division said.The operation will focus greatly on inspecting public guest transportation buses.Accordingly, the police officers will examine drivers to detect whether they are under the impact of alcohol or drugs.
Buses will likewise be scrutinized for negligent driving, speeding, traffic infractions, and mechanical flaws, consisting of risky tires.
