TEHRAN - Production of alumina powder in Iran increased by 5 percent in the first 8 months of the existing Iranian fiscal year (March 20-Novemebr 20), the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) announced.Based on the IMIDRO information, the country produced 159,416 tons of alumina powder in the pointed out eight-month of this year, while the figure was 152,293 tons in the first 8 months of the previous year.Aluminum oxide, whichis typically calledalumina, is an inert, odor free, white amorphous material frequently used in industrial ceramics.Alumina is an important ceramic product for commercial applications.
