Levies forces apprehended 72 Afghan nationals who had crossed into Pakistan illegally from Afghanistan in the Chagai location on Tuesday, dawn news reported.According to a senior Levies officer, the Afghan people did not have legal travel documents and were consequently deported at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border crossing at Baracha, in Chagai.He said Pakistan had actually tightened security in its border locations with Afghanistan to curb illegal crossings.According to authorities, Levies and Frontier Corps personnel performed 10 joint operations in 2024, resulting in the arrest of 3,826 Afghan nationals, consisting of 2,779 men, 338 ladies and 290 kids, from numerous border locations of Chagai district.These Afghan families, who had unlawfully entered Pakistan, were returned to Afghanistan after examination.
Levies authorities said Pakistan is carefully monitoring its border with Afghanistan to satisfy its commitment to preventing unlawful entries, keeping order, and combating unlawful activities.Pakistan had previously imposed a && one-document routine& & system for border crossings in between the 2 countries, which mandates that all movement at crossing points like Chaman be performed via passports and valid visas.To facilitate this, the federal government developed passport offices in Chaman and Qila Abdullah districts.
