Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday said allies need to pursue determining a format for any upcoming peace talks with Russia which Kyiv should be involved for successful negotiations. His remarks are the current to pile speculation over the possibility of talk with end the harsh dispute that has cost 10s of thousands of lives after almost three years of fighting.
I understand that contacts can be in different formats, Zelensky said, describing possible settlements that would result in a just peace.
I believe we need to concentrate on this today, he said.President Vladimir Putin previously today stated he was all set for talks with U.S.
counterpart Donald Trump on Ukraine, praising him as a wise leader who may have prevented the conflict from beginning in February 2022.
Putin did not say when talks could occur, and the Kremlin said previously it was still waiting on signals from Washington, despite Trump revealing Thursday he was willing to fulfill Putin immediately.
Trump, who was inaugurated on Monday, has called the conflict absurd and threatened Russia with tougher financial sanctions if it does not accept stop its offensive.Zelensky stated in Kyiv that talks to end the war should be held in between the United States, Ukraine and Russia, along with the European Union.
I cant say today what type of settlements will happen, what will be the structure of the settlement procedure, because we do not have a common plan yet, Zelensky added. He restated a common talking point among Ukrainian authorities that any negotiations that omitted Kyiv would not ultimately guarantee any long lasting peace.
It is difficult to leave out Ukraine from any negotiation platform, or this settlement platform will not have real outcomes, however will have political outcomes, he said.
And such outcomes will have absolutely nothing to do with security and completion of the war, he said.Zelensky has actually put forward several propositions to end the conflict, including his so-called triumph strategy at a Ukraine summit in 2015 that united lots of nations and worldwide companies.
