Police have apprehended another suspect in connection with the recent triple murder in Middeniya, in which the dad and his 2 children were shot dead while riding on a motorcycle.The arrest was performed by a group of officers attached to Tangalle Divisional Crimes Unit in Wakamulla location of Weeraketiya last early morning (25 ), the Police Media Division said.Police have now arrested an overall of six suspects, including a cops constable over the incident.The shooting happened targeting a male travelling by motorbike with his two kids near the Kadewatta Junction in Middeniya on the night of February 18.
The father, who was riding the motorbike, was killed on the spot.
His son and child, who were critically hurt, were rushed to the Embilipitiya and Tangalle hospitals.Despite getting medical treatment, the six-year-old daughter succumbed to her injuries soon after being confessed to the Tangalle Hospital, while the nine-year-old child passed away the following day.Middeniya Police are continuing their investigations into the incident.
