
Sri Lanka Grama Niladhari Association has announced that all female Grama Niladharis will no longer work graveyard shift starting today (14 ), pointing out growing security concerns.Colombo District President of the association Shamali Watsala Kulatunga stated that in addition to ceasing night tasks, offices situated in unsafe or sparsely populated areas will be closed, with main work moved to more protected locations.Meanwhile, Minister of Women and Child Affairs Saroja Savitri Paulraj ensured that needed measures will be required to make sure the safety of females engaged in graveyard shift.
She made this statement while reacting to media queries in Kandy.
