The 15th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) is set to light up the capital from April 18 to 26, promising nine days of film screenings, star-studded events, and immersive cultural experiences. At a press conference on Thursday, organizers announced that this year's festival, guided by the China Film Administration and hosted by China Media Group (CMG) and the Beijing Municipal Government, will bring together filmmakers, industry leaders, and fans for a celebration of cinema.Beyond the usual red carpets, film screenings, and awards gala, this year's BJIFF will introduce the Beijing Film Life Festival, aiming to integrate culture, commerce, tourism, and sports.
The initiative will create new film consumption experiences and transform the city into a grand cinematic carnival for moviegoers and tourists.During the festival, the organizing committee, in collaboration with CMG's Beijing station, will also launch a series of events, including Ne Zha-themed exhibitions and film-related cultural and creative markets to boost consumption.
Beijing's major commercial districts and tourist attractions will also participate in the campaign, offering discounts on shopping, dining, accommodation, and parking for those who present their BJIFF movie tickets. This year's official festival poster, featuring a stunning kaleidoscope design, was also unveiled in the press briefing.
The poster is a tribute to cinema's ability to capture and reflect the beauty of life.
The intricate patterns inside the kaleidoscope are inspired by the rooftop design of the Wanchun Pavilion in the Forbidden City, merging Chinese heritage with the magic of film.
