TEHRAN Irans steel production struck 30 million loads in the previous Iranian fiscal year 1403 (ended on March 20, 2025), the chairman of the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA).
Putting the nations annual steel output at 32 million lots in the Iranian year 1402, Bahram Sobhani stated that the output fell 7 percent in 2015 due to the lack of energy for production units.
The Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) announced in late January that Irans steel producers ended 2024 with modest development, as the countrys production of this essential metal reached 31 million lots.
The most recent report from the World Steel Association reveals that Irans steel production grew by 0.8 percent in 2015.
This was regardless of an 8.2 percent decline in production throughout December, when energy scarcities, especially of gas and electrical energy, impacted output, lowering it to 2.6 million heaps, IMIDRO stated.
The World Steel Associations table verifies that Iran retained its position as the worlds tenth-largest crude steel manufacturer.
The total output of the associations 71 member nations reached 1.839 billion tons, marking a 0.9 percent decline compared to 2023.
However, international steel production in December grew by 5.6 percent to 144.5 million heaps.
China preserved its leading position with simply over 1.005 billion lots of production.
India ranked second globally with a significantly lower production volume of 149 million tons, followed by Japan in 3rd place with 84 million heaps.
The United States produced more than 79 million lots, Russia over 70 million heaps, South Korea 63.5 million heaps, Germany 37.2 million heaps, Turkey 36.9 million heaps, and Brazil 33.7 million lots, occupying the fourth to ninth spots, respectively.
Among the top 10 steel-producing nations, Turkey tape-recorded the greatest development rate at 9.4 percent.
It was followed by India with 6.3 percent, Brazil with 5.3 percent, and Germany with 5.2 percent.
The steepest declines in production were reported by Russia, down 7.2 percent, South Korea, down 4.7 percent, the United States, down 2.4 percent, and China, down 1.7 percent.
The Iranian Steel industry has been continuously developing over the past years versus all the pressures and obstacles produced by outside forces like the U.S.
sanctions and the coronavirus outbreak that has severely affected the efficiency of the worlds top manufacturers.
