Russia

U.S.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated Friday that President Donald Trump does not want to be drawn into the trap of endless negotiations with Russia over ending the war in Ukraine, adding that it would quickly become clear whether Moscow is major about peace.Rubio spoke in Brussels after meeting with NATO allies, many of whom have revealed concern over Trumps outreach to the Kremlin to broker an offer to end the war in Ukraine.President Trump is not going to fall under the trap of unlimited settlements about negotiations, Rubio informed press reporters.
We will know soon enough in a matter of weeks, not months whether Russia is major about peace or not.Allies have actually urged Trump to take a firm stance versus Moscow, even as he pushes for a broad ceasefire regardless of ongoing accusations from both Ukraine and Russia of violations of a stop in strikes on energy infrastructure. While Trump has advocated for alleviating stress with Russia, he has also voiced aggravation over the absence of progress toward a ceasefire.Russian President Vladimir Putin last month declined a U.S.-Ukrainian proposal for a full, genuine ceasefire and connected any truce in the Black Sea to Western sanctions relief.Rubio, indicating support for Ukraine, stated Kyiv had actually revealed a desire to consent to a full ceasefire and open space for negotiations. The Russians and Putin will have to decide about whether theyre major about peace or not, Rubio stated.
If its a delay technique, the presidents not thinking about that.
