The first phase of construction on the 525,000-square feet facility will be able to accommodate 1,000 employees, the country's second-biggest software services exporter said.
The Honorable Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, laid the foundation stone for the Bengal Silicon Valley Hub in Kolkata today where this project is located.As part of this project spread over 50 acres, Infosys will invest approximately Rs 100 crores in the first phase of construction to build a 525,000 square feet facility, in which the company will create employment for 1000 engineers initially.
The first phase of the project will be completed within 15 months from the date of obtaining all statutory clearances.Recently, Infosys Ltd had also said that the company would build a software development centre in Noida in Uttar Pradesh, with an initial investment of about Rs.750 crore ($109 million).Meanwhile, in July, Infosys retained its 6 to 8 per cent revenue growth outlook for the fiscal year to March, with Parekh making upbeat comments about demand for the company's services in key markets the United States and Europe.The company reported a net profit of Rs.
3,612 crore for the quarter ended June 2018, as against Rs.
3,690 crore in the previous quarter.
For the financial year ended March 31, 2018, Infosys had reported an increase of 11.7 per cent in its consolidated net profit at Rs.
16,029 crore.
