Mobile app Umang, a one-stop solution for many government services, is now offering details of your deposited pension, according toEPFO or Employees' Provident Fund Organisation.
Retirement fund body EPFO has now allowed pensioners to view their pension passbook via Umang, EPFO said in a statement on Thursday.
The retirement fund body offers a host of services via Umang, developed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
EPFO subscribers can also view their provident fund (PF) contributions via Umang, which is currently available on Google, Apple and Windows platforms.How to check pension passbook via mobile app UmangOn clicking 'View Passbook' option in Umang, you will be required to type your Pension Payment Order (PPO number) and date of birth (DOB).
PPO refers to a unique number allotted to each pensioner.After successful validation of the information fed by you, an OTP or one-time password will be sent to your registered mobile number.
On entering the OTP, 'Pensioner Passbook' will display the details of the pensioner like name, date of birth along with the last pension credited information.
The facility to download the financial year-wise complete pass book details is also available.Other services offered by EPFO on Umang appOther e-services of EPFO already available through Umang aap include Employee Centric Services (View EPF Passbook, Raise claim, Track Claim), Employer Centric Services (Get remittance details by establishment ID, Get TRRN Status), general services (search establishment, search EPFO office, know your claim status, account details on SMS, account details on missed calls), pensioner services (update Jeevan Praman), and eKYC (electronic Know Your Customer) services (Aadhaar seeding).Earlier, reports suggested EPFO had in March informed the Ministry of Electronics and IT of a "data theft".
EPFO , however, clarified that there was no data leakage from its data centres.
The warnings related to services through common service centres and not via EPFO software or data centres, it said.
"EPFO has taken advance action by closing the server and host service through Common Service Centres pending vulnerability checks as part of the data security and protection," EPFO said.
