President Vladimir Putin designated the former head of northern Russias republic of Komi to work as a senior Defense Ministry official, state media reported Thursday.Vladimir Uyba revealed Tuesday that he was stepping down from workplace in Komi, making him the third local executive to resign this week as part of an annual reshuffle that political observers call gubernatorpad.Vladimir Uyba has been appointed initially deputy head of the Russian Defense Ministrys primary military medical directorate, the state-run news agency TASS priced quote the outgoing guvs press service as saying.Uyba previously headed Russias Federal Medical-Biological Agency, a national illness control and prevention body that played a key function in efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
In his new post, Uyba is expected to assistthe head of the main military medical directorate, Dmitry Trishkin, in making sure the health of Russian soldiers and supervising the arrangement of medical equipment.Known by its Russian acronym GVMU, the directorate utilizes 100,000 medical professionals and 23,000 medical professionals in 70 military medical facilities and clinics.During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, the main military medical directorate sent out medics to Italy andSerbia and took part in human trials for the advancement of Russias Covid-19 vaccine Sputnik.
