The Kremlin on Monday implicated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of turning down peace efforts following his public clash with U.S.
President Donald Trump.
He does not desire peace.
Someone needs to make him desire peace.
If the Europeans do it, all kudos to them, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov informed reporters. He called Fridays tense exchange between Trump and Zelensky an extraordinary occasion and blamed Zelensky, stating he demonstrated a total lack of diplomatic capabilities, to put it mildly.
Peskov likewise said that Russian President Vladimir Putin was aware of the encounter and that it strengthened Moscows stance on the war.The Kremlin spokesman suggested that European leaders would need to smooth things over with Trump, stating: Someone will need to make large efforts in discussion with Washington in order to in some way counteract the unpleasant residue that unquestionably remains in the White House after talking to Zelensky.
Peskov added that plainly, the efforts of Washington alone and the readiness of Moscow will not suffice to end the war in Ukraine. His remarks came after Ukraines European allies held emergency talks over the weekend in London, where Zelensky stated he would deal with Europe to set terms for a possible peace deal.Peskov described the situation as complex, claiming that the collective West has started to partially lose its cumulative unity on Ukraine.
Although possible peace strategies are being at first designed, it is not possible yet to state that there is a coherent peace plan, he said.Meanwhile, Russia is continuing its unique military operation in Ukraine to achieve the goals that it had from the start, Peskov included.
