Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday appointed brand-new acting guvs for the Sverdlovsk and Orenburg regions ahead of gubernatorial elections later on this year.Orenburgs outbound governor, Denis Pasler, replaced Yury Kuivashev as governor in Sverdlovsk, according to a Kremlin decree.
During a televised conference, Putin told Pasler that he would like to offer and ask you to go back to your native area where youve already worked.Yevgeny Solntsev, the previous prime minister of the pro-Moscow federal government in eastern Ukraines occupied Donetsk area, succeeded Pasler as acting governor of Orenburg.
Solntsev also previously worked as Russias deputy building minister. Both Pasler and Solntsev requested a number of months to get ready for their brand-new roles, according to readouts from their particular meetings with Putin.Orenburg and Sverdlovsk are among 20 Russian areas and the annexed Crimean city of Sevastopol that will hold direct or indirect gubernatorial elections in September. While Putin has not shown if Kuivashev will be reassigned, the Vedomosti business newspaper reported last month that he could be designated to a federal government position later on this year.Political experts view Paslers reappointment as a promotion regardless of debates surrounding protests over his response to lethal floods in Orenburg last year, as well as his kids hockey career in the United States.
