Iraq's PM calls CBI to take firm actions regarding the currency exchange rate

2022-12-27T11:18:19.000000 The Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani, meets on Tuesday with the Central Bank of Iraq Governor, Mustafa Ghaleb Mukheef, to discuss the monetary situation.The PM media office specified that Mukheef talked about with Al-Sudani the devaluation of the Iraqi dinar against foreign currencies and the steps the bank took in this field.

The Prime Minister urged the Central Bank to take firm actions to support the currency exchange rate and stressed the requirement to prevent speculation that affects the rates in the regional market.

The Prime Minister also directed to take steps to offer foreign currency at main rates under worldwide standards.The Governor considered the monetary circumstance positive, explaining that the currency crisis is due to technical reasons.
