Sri Lanka observed an increase of 10% in workers remittances in September this year compared to the inflows recorded in August, says Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara.Figures released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) showed that workers remittances increased to 359 million in September 2022 from USD 325 million in August 2022.Workers remittances also saw an increase of 29% (USD 80 million) compared to the inflows recorded in July 2022, Minister Nanayakkara said further.On a cumulative basis, workers remittances recorded a decrease of 43.8% (year-on-year) to USD 2,574.1 million for the first nine months of 2022, according to the Central Banks data..
