
TEHRAN - A historical structure on Kish Island is set to be transformed into a museum dedicated to showcasing Islamic-era antiques and arts following a freshly signed arrangement in between the Dafineh Museums Group and the Kish Free Zone Organization.Inked by Hamidreza Soleimani, CEO of the Dafineh Museums Group, and Mohammad-Jafar Kabiri, CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization, in Tehran on Monday, the agreement marks a substantial cultural initiative to develop Kish Islands very first museum committed to Islamic civilization and heritage.The Kish Free Zone Organization has formally entrusted the historic building to the Dafineh Museums Group for its transformation into a cultural and historical exhibition space, Soleimani told the Tehran Times.During the finalizing event, Soleimani highlighted the significance of preserving and showing Irans abundant heritage.
In Dafineh Museums Group, we hold a cherished collection of historic artifacts that, according to the directives of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, need to be showcased to the general public, Soleimani said.Currently, we operate 15 museums across the country, and we aim to broaden this number.
These museums are exceptional in Iran and throughout West Asia, he stated.Kabiri, for his part, highlighted the islands multi-faceted development technique, with a specific focus on cultural tourism.
We are aiming to enhance Kish Islands cultural appeal, and the prominent artifacts owned by the Foundation can be shown in key areas like Kish, which draws in many worldwide travelers, he explained.Kabiri also stressed the importance of rejuvenating unused archaeological sites across Kish Island.
Numerous nostalgic spaces on the island have been deserted or do not have appropriate usage.
Changing them into cultural and museum areas is the best approach to maintaining their significance, he added.Furthermore, Kabiri stressed the need to integrate storytelling into museum exhibits.
A museum is not simply a collection of things; every artifact should narrate, contributing to its appeal and meaning, he noted.Elsewhere in his remarks, Kabiri exposed plans for extra museum projects on Kish Island, stating that three more places have been determined for similar cultural initiatives.
