Cartagena will welcome over 50 media editors from Europe and Latin America during the VIII Congress of Editors scheduled for March 17-19, according to event organizers.The international gathering brings together directors, editors, and journalists from 18 countries across both continents.
The EditoRed Congress centers on artificial intelligences impact on journalism this year.Participants will examine how AI transforms newsrooms, content verification, and media sustainability in the evolving digital landscape.
Media leaders will analyze how AI redefines news production during the first academic day.They will also discuss AIs influence on content distribution and consumption alongside ethical and regulatory challenges facing the industry.
The event has operated since 2008 under Grupo Prestomedias organization and EditoReds promotion.The Association of Media from Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean includes over 50 editors from influential media outlets reaching an estimated 446 million people.Colombias Cartagena Hosts Major International Editors Congress Focused on A.I.

Additional backers include Spains Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Telefnica, Iberia, Aqualia, and the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean.The congress serves as a preparatory activity for the CELAC-EU summit of European and Latin American leaders.
Colombia hosts this years summit, expecting attendance from 60 heads of state.During the second academic day, speakers will focus on Latin America-Europe relations.
They will explore cooperation opportunities, regional relationships, and medias role in international conflicts and current geopolitics.Colombian newspaper La Repblica serves as the Latin American host, while Spanish Media Group Prensamedia partners as the editorial collaborator for this significant media event.
