The Sensex has declined for eight sessions in a row The domestic equity benchmarks erased intraday gains with the SP BSE Sensex on track for ninth straight session of losses and NSE Nifty 50 Index declining for eighth day in a row.
Selling pressure in information technology heavyweights - Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys dragged the benchmarks lower wiping out gains in Vedanta, ICICI Bank and Tata Steel.
From the day's highest level, Sensex fell 401 points and the NSE Nifty 50 Index dropped over 100 points to test important level of 10,600.
