People of Karnataka felt that the state government can reduce the prices of fuel by reducing the taxes.
I want to announce from Kalburgi that the coalition government has decided to cut down the taxes for petrol and diesel minimum by 2 rupees.
I hope this step taken by our coalition government will give some relief to the people of Karnataka," Mr Kumaraswamy said.The reduction in petrol and diesel prices by Karnataka comes after Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan cut fuel prices by Rs 2 and Rs 2.5 per litre respectively.Among the key cities, on Monday, a litre of petrol was sold for Rs 82.06 in New Delhi, Rs 83.91 in Kolkata, Rs 89.44 in Mumbai, Rs 85.31 in Chennai, and Rs 84.74 in Bengaluru, according to Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), the largest fuel retailer.A litre of diesel was sold for Rs 73.78 in New Delhi, Rs 75.63 in Kolkata, Rs 78.33 in Mumbai, Rs 78 in Chennai, and Rs 76.16 in Bengaluru, according to iocl.com, the website of IOC.
