China will continue to work with all celebrations to practice true multilateralism, protect the central role of the United Nations, and promote global governance that is based on extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared advantage, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated on Monday.Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks in a written message for the worldwide symposium themed Strengthen the Role of the United Nations and Promote Multilateralism hosted by the Chinese Foreign Ministry in Beijing.The effective convening of the UN Summit of the Future last year showed the typical goal of the global neighborhood for supporting and promoting multilateralism, strengthening the function of the United Nations, and enhancing international governance, Wang said.This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War and the founding of the United Nations, and the international community hopes to see all nations work in solidarity and coordination to support what is right, protect fairness and justice, secure world peace and stability, and promote worldwide advancement and success, Wang said.As a founding member of the United Nations and an irreversible member of the UN Security Council, China will continue to deal with all sides to practice real multilateralism, secure the central function of the United Nations, and promote worldwide governance that is based upon comprehensive assessment, joint contribution and shared advantage, Wang said.
Together, we will bring stability to a changing and rough world, inject positive energy in developing a more simply and equitable international governance system, and work toward the vision of a neighborhood with a shared future for mankind, Wang noted.More than 100 individuals, including representatives from nearly 50 countries, international organizations and regional organizations in China, UN officials, agents from pertinent departments, professionals and scholars, went to the seminar.
