Banking Operations Partially Hit Due To Trade Union Strike

The All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) and Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI) have supported strike, which impacted banking
operations where these two unions are strong
However, operations in State Bank of India (SBI) and private sector banks remained unaffected, as other seven unions in banking sector are
deposit and withdrawal, cheque clearances were impacted at many branches
(PSBs) as employees will lose their jobs and employment generation will be halted
The unions are also against privatisation of PSBs as government is doing in case of IDBI Bank, he said, adding that Wednesday also strike in
materialises, a section of bank's employees may take part in proposed strike on said dates, in which case, normal functioning of
branches/offices of bank may get affected," Indian Bank said in a statement.The two-day strike on Tuesday and Wednesday has been called by
central trade unions against alleged repressive policies for workers adopted by government.
