NEW DELHI: The BSE Midcap index was outpacing benchmark Sensex during Tuesday's trade.Around 11:45 am, the midcap index was 0.34 per cent
up at 15,689, while the Sensex was 0.03 per cent down at 34,607
The Nifty50 index was 0.02 per cent up at 10,519 around the same time
Shares of Bajaj Holdings Investment (up 5.64 per cent) and Ashok Leyland (up 5 per cent) were the top gainers in the midcap index.Shares of
Endurance Technologies (up 2.73 per cent), Wockhardt (up 2.72 per cent), Max Financial Services (up 2.63 per cent), Shriram Transport
Finance Company (up 2.51 per cent), Tata Global Beverages (up 2.47 per cent) and Godrej Agrovet (up 2.35 per cent) were also witnessing
traction.On the other hand, Vakrangee (down 4.90 per cent), Reliance Nippon Life Asset Management (down 3.80 per cent) and Indraprastha Gas
(down 3.72 per cent) were the top losers in the midcap pack.Mphasis (down 2.53 per cent), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise (down 2.51 per cent),
Shriram City Union Finance (down 2.03 per cent), Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals (down 1.90 per cent) and Adani Power (down 1.69 per
cent) were also among the losers in the index.Equity benchmarks erased the gains on poor show by heavyweights HDFC, Tata Consultancy
Services, ITC, State Bank of India and Hindustan Unilever
In the Sensex index, 18 stocks were trading up and 13 were down
Bajaj Auto, Bharti Airtel and Dr Reddy's Labs were among top Sensex gainers
