Market Now: IT stocks tumble amid a fresh rise in rupee; TCS top loser

NEW DELHI: A majority of IT stocks including Tata Consultancy Services (down 1.51 per cent), Mindtree (down 1.26 per cent) and KPIT
Technologies (down 0.99 per cent) were trading in the negative territory in afternoon trade on Tuesday amid fresh rise in Indian rupee.The
rupee moved slightly up by 10 paise during Tuesday's trade.The Nifty IT index was trading 0.22 per cent down at 13,454 around 01:50 pm
Tech Mahindra (down 0.58 per cent), Infibeam Incorporation (down 0.24 per cent), Oracle Financial Services Software (down 0.17 per cent) and
Wipro (down 0.13 per cent) were also among the losers in the index.However, shares of HCL Technologies (up 1.07 per cent), Infosys (up 0.91
per cent) and Tata Elxsi (up 0.44 per cent) were trading with gains
Equity benchmarks were up with tepid gains on buying in select auto, metal, pharma and bank stocks
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 15 points at 10,532, while the BSE Sensex was up 42 points at 34,659.Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty
index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red
UltraTech Cement, Indian Oil Corporation, Bharti Infratel and HPCL were among the top losers in the Nifty index
